Joseph is a Board member of Singapore Association for Mental Health and contribute extensively to the mental health community. He is the current Chairman of the Rehabilitation Services Sub- Committee and Chairman of the Management Committee of SAMH Activity Hub at Pelangi Village.

He is the current President of the Association for Psychiatric Rehabilitation, Singapore, APRS since 2018. APRS is a registered member of NCSS.

He volunteers at these registered charities based in Singapore as :

Expert Advisor to Caregivers Alliance Limited since 2012
Expert Advisor to Club Heal since 2012
Medical Advisor to Hougang Care Centre since 2012
Expert Advisor to St Andrew’s Nursing Home since 2018

He has volunteered in various capacity on an ad-hoc basis since 1996 at Shan You Counselling Center, LeJia Society, Simei Care Center
