Personal Resilience: Key to reducing Stress, Anxiety & Depression (Part 1)

September 29, 2020 @ 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm

This workshop comprises of two parts (29 Sept as part 1 & 30 Sept as part 2). Participants are required to attend both dates.

About the workshop:

Life today is complicated. We live in an era of rapid change, economic instability, and now with the new challenges created by COVID-19. About 10% of Singaporeans suffer with depression or anxiety, and the number seems to be growing. The result is reduced productivity at work, broken relationships with friends and family at home, and higher levels of unhappiness.

Many people turn to prescription medications or alcohol to help cope with their feelings of anxiety and depression. Turning to alcohol and drugs can be dangerous. Prescription medications can help in the short term but do not correct the underlying thinking and feelings. Building higher levels of personal resilience can help you to be more effective, relaxed, and happier. This solution is more effective, costs nothing, and has no side effects.

• Why do we feel anxious & depressed?

• What is personal resilience?

• Happiness as a universal currency

• Building a sense of purpose

• Mindfulness and savoring the good in our lives

• The importance of social connectedness

• Telling yourself constructive stories

• Building a reserve of resilience

• Grit: More passion and persistence in your life

This is a small investment in yourself that will yield big dividends. At the end of these workshops, you will have tools to build personal resilience and a life with greater meaning, less stress, and more happiness.
